Since the inception of our programme in 1999 and expansion into a Department in 2019, we have emerged as a leader in the field of Food Science and Technology, taking the lead in nurturing talent and addressing global food concerns.

Silver Anniversary

On 8 August, the NUS Department of Food Science & Technology marked its Silver Anniversary with a Department Opening Ceremony and Gala Dinner. Joined by over 250 industry partners, alumni and friends, we celebrated the Department’s achievements and rich history.

Singapore International Food Forum

Co-organised by NUS and the Singapore Food Agency, the inaugural Singapore International Food Forum saw over 330 attendees from 20 countries, who gathered to exchange ideas on food safety, AI, sustainability and other emerging topics in the field.

Homecoming

This year’s Homecoming Day, an annual alumni event, featured a Family Baking Workshop and a Sake Appreciation Workshop, offering alumni the perfect opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and old friends.

Connecting to the Industry

Our Honours students present their Final Year Projects and Internships to professionals in the industry in this annual event. This year, we also showcased our innovative spin-off companies and latest research.

Heartwarming Reunions

An enduring tradition of unity within the FST family, alumni, students and staff got together for an evening of laughter and good food as we celebrated the Year of the Dragon together.

Seeds Of Support

Alumni and staff of the Department raised $25,000 to establish the NUSS-FST 25th Anniversary Bursary Award, which will be used to support financially disadvantaged FST students.
