The BASF Kids’ Lab was held in our laboratories from 7 to 9 December as part of BASF’s efforts to nurture children’s interest in science and chemistry. In the event, our Head of Department Prof Zhou Weibiao had the opportunity to welcome Chua Chu Kang GRC Member of Parliament Mr Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, who was accompanying a group of young children from Keat Hong as a volunteer. Prof Zhou also met Dr Carola Richter, President of BASF Asia Pacific, Ms Vimala Arumugam, Managing Director of BASF South East Asia & BASF Malaysia, as well as volunteers from NUS and Keat Hong Youth Network to thank them for their efforts in facilititating the event. The young participants participated in hands-on experiments to investigate pigments in fruits and vitamin C content in different drinks and fruits. We hope everyone had fun learning about science hands-on in this event!
